Recently, United Laboratories signed a donation agreement with the Chongqing Medical University Education Development Foundation for the “United Laboratories–Chongqing Medical University University–Enterprise Partnership Doctoral Team Public Welfare Project.” Under the agreement, United Laboratories will donate RMB1 million to the Foundation over five consecutive years, starting in 2026, with an annual contribution of RMB200,000. The funds will be dedicated to supporting Chongqing Medical University’s doctoral student medical service team in providing public welfare medical services in remote areas of western China, while contributing to the development of education at Chongqing Medical University.

On September 11, a donation appreciation ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of Chongqing Medical University was held at its Yuanjiagang Campus. During the ceremony, Mr. Li Huabing, Member of the Standing Committee of the University’s Party Committee and Vice President, presented United Laboratories with a donation certificate and commemorative gift. Mr. Zhong Zhaohui, Secretary of the General Party Branch of the Graduate School, presented a certificate of appreciation to United Laboratories on behalf of the Chongqing Medical University Doctoral Team.

Since its establishment in 2000, Chongqing Medical University’s Doctoral Student Medical Service Team has reached remote areas across western China, including Xinjiang, Tibet and Guizhou, providing services to more than 100,000 patient visits and community members and building vital “bridges to better health” at the grassroots level. Supported by dedicated funding from United Laboratories, the “United Laboratories–Chongqing Medical University– University–Enterprise Partnership Doctoral Team Public Welfare Project” aims to address disparities in medical resources between eastern and western China. The initiative will organize outstanding doctoral students to travel to remote counties in Xinjiang to provide a range of services, including free medical consultations, health education, academic lectures, consultations on complex cases, and training and mentorship for primary-level physicians. Through these efforts, the project seeks to address gaps in healthcare services in border regions, bringing high-quality medical resources to underserved communities and strengthening the capacity of local healthcare providers.

United Laboratories has maintained a longstanding partnership with Chongqing Medical University. Since establishing the “United Laboratories Medical Education Scholarship” in 1998, the two parties have worked together for 28 years. With a long-standing commitment to supporting medical education, United Laboratories has donated nearly RMB50 million to date, benefiting more than 50 universities across China. This public welfare initiative represents a practical step in United Laboratories’ ongoing efforts to support medical education and contribute to the national Healthy China initiative.
